Clean the Drain Filter
The drain filter collects lint, debris, and foreign objects that can clog the drainage system. Our technicians carefully remove and clean the filter, ensuring proper water flow and preventing blockages that could lead to flooding or damage. A clean drain filter also improves efficiency and prevents unpleasant odors from developing in your appliance.
Wipe the Door Seal (Front-Loaders)
The door seal on front-loading machines is prone to mold and mildew buildup due to constant moisture exposure. We thoroughly clean and sanitize the door seal using specialized cleaning agents. This prevents mold growth, eliminates unpleasant smells, and extends the life of the seal. Regular cleaning also prevents water leaks and ensures a tight seal during operation.
Run a Cleaning Cycle
Running a dedicated cleaning cycle is essential for maintaining optimal hygiene standards inside your washing machine. We use professional-grade cleaning solutions to remove detergent residue, mold, and bacteria from internal components. This process ensures your clothes are washed in a clean environment. A regular cleaning cycle also improves performance and energy efficiency.
Clean the Detergent Dispenser
The detergent dispenser can accumulate residue and mold over time, leading to unpleasant odors and reduced cleaning effectiveness. Our maintenance process includes removing and thoroughly cleaning the dispenser tray to ensure proper detergent distribution. This step prevents clogging and ensures your detergent is used efficiently, leading to cleaner laundry and preventing waste.
Inspect Water Inlet Hoses
Water inlet hoses are critical for the proper functioning of your washing machine. We carefully inspect these hoses for any signs of wear, cracks, or leaks. Early detection of potential issues allows us to replace damaged hoses before they cause water damage or flooding. Regular inspection is essential for preventing costly water damage to your home.
Clean Inlet Filter Screens
Inlet filter screens can become clogged with sediment and mineral deposits from your water supply. Our maintenance process includes cleaning these screens to ensure proper water flow into your machine. This prevents reduced water pressure and potential damage to internal components. Clean inlet filter screens also improve efficiency and prevent unnecessary strain on the pump.
Level the Machine
An unlevel washing machine can cause excessive vibration, noise, and potential damage to both the appliance and your floor. We use precision tools to ensure your machine is perfectly level. This simple adjustment can significantly extend the life of your appliance and improve its performance. Proper leveling also reduces noise during operation and prevents the machine from "walking" across the floor during spin cycles.
Inspect the Drain Hose
The drain hose carries wastewater away from your machine. Our maintenance process includes a thorough inspection of the drain hose for any kinks, blockages, or damage. We ensure proper installation and clearance to prevent water backup and potential flooding. Regular inspection prevents water damage and ensures efficient drainage during each wash cycle.
Deep Clean the Interior
Over time, washing machines can accumulate detergent buildup, mold, and bacteria in hard-to-reach areas. Our maintenance service includes a deep cleaning of the interior using specialized equipment and cleaning agents. This comprehensive cleaning removes stubborn residues and ensures a hygienic environment for your laundry. A deep clean also helps eliminate odors and improves overall performance.
Inspect Electrical Connections
Safety is paramount in our maintenance service. We thoroughly inspect all electrical connections, including the power cord, control panel wiring, and internal electrical components. This inspection helps prevent electrical hazards and ensures your machine operates safely. Regular electrical inspections also help identify potential issues before they become serious problems, extending the life of your appliance.
Test Water Temperature
Proper water temperature is essential for effective cleaning and energy efficiency. Our maintenance process includes testing the water temperature settings to ensure they match the selected cycles. This calibration ensures optimal cleaning performance and prevents damage to delicate fabrics. Proper water temperature testing also helps identify issues with heating elements or thermostats that may need attention.
Replace Rubber Water Hoses
Old or damaged rubber water hoses are a common cause of leaks and water damage. We recommend replacing rubber hoses with more durable braided stainless steel hoses. This preventive measure significantly reduces the risk of hose failure and potential flooding. Regular hose replacement is a cost-effective way to prevent expensive water damage repairs.
Clean the Washer Drum
The washer drum is where your clothes spend most of their time during the wash cycle. Our process includes a thorough cleaning of the drum to remove detergent residue, fabric softener buildup, and mold. This cleaning ensures your clothes come out cleaner and prevents the transfer of odors or stains to your laundry. A clean drum also improves the overall efficiency of your washing machine.
Clean the Lint Filter
Lint filters trap fibers and debris from your laundry, preventing them from clogging your machine's drainage system. Our maintenance service includes cleaning or replacing the lint filter to ensure proper water flow and prevent potential blockages. Regular lint filter cleaning improves drying efficiency and prevents damage to your machine's pump and other components.
Leave the Door Open Between Loads
Allowing your washing machine to dry out between uses is a simple but effective maintenance practice. Our technicians recommend leaving the door open after each use to prevent mold and mildew buildup. This practice also helps eliminate unpleasant odors and extends the life of door seals and other components. Proper ventilation between loads is essential for maintaining a clean and fresh-smelling washing machine.
Use the Correct Type of Detergent
Using the right detergent is crucial for optimal washing machine performance. Our experts recommend using high-efficiency (HE) detergent for HE machines and regular detergent for standard machines. The correct detergent ensures proper cleaning performance and prevents excessive sudsing that can damage your machine. Using the appropriate detergent also helps prevent residue buildup and maintains efficiency.
Avoid Using Too Much Detergent
Excessive detergent use can lead to residue buildup, reduced cleaning effectiveness, and potential damage to your washing machine. We recommend using the manufacturer's recommended amount of detergent. This practice prevents suds from redepositing on clothes and ensures your machine operates at peak efficiency. Proper detergent measurement also saves money and reduces environmental impact.
Avoid Overloading the Machine
Overloading your washing machine puts unnecessary strain on the motor, bearings, and other components. Our maintenance guidelines emphasize following the manufacturer's capacity recommendations. Proper loading ensures thorough cleaning, prevents damage to your machine, and extends its lifespan. Avoiding overloading also improves energy efficiency and reduces wear and tear on moving parts.
Sort Laundry by Fabric Type and Color
Proper laundry sorting is an essential aspect of washing machine care. We recommend sorting clothes by fabric type and color to prevent dye transfer, fabric damage, and excessive lint production. This practice also ensures more effective cleaning and prevents unnecessary strain on your machine. Proper sorting extends the life of both your clothes and your washing machine.
Give the Machine Proper Space from the Wall
Proper installation with adequate
Every effective washing machine maintenance programme begins with a thorough initial inspection. Before any repair, servicing, or preventive maintenance is performed, a qualified technician must first assess the condition of the machine in its entirety. The initial inspection establishes the baseline upon which all subsequent maintenance decisions are made. At Washing Machines Tech, we regard...
A washing machine is one of the hardest-working appliances in any household, often running hundreds of cycles per year. most machines are built to last between 10 and 13 years, actual lifespans vary widely depending on several key factors. Understanding these influences can you protect your investment and get the most out of your appliance##...
Washing machines are essential household appliances that save time, water, and effort when handling laundry. However, like other appliances, they require regular care to operate efficiently and safely. Proper maintenance can help prevent breakdowns, reduce energy and water consumption, protect clothes, and extend the working life of the machine. Whether you use a front-load, top-load,...
Surface cleaning and monthly maintenance cycles address the visible and accessible parts of a washing machine. A deep clean goes further, targeting the internal surfaces and components that accumulate residue over months and years of use: the inner drum surface and perforations, the door boot and its drainage point, the sump area, and the space...
Not all washing machines have a dedicated lint filter, but those that do — particularly older top-loaders and some front-loader models — rely on it to capture fibre debris, lint, and small particles shed from laundry during the wash cycle. A clogged lint filter reduces water circulation, impairs drainage, and allows lint to redeposit on...
Leaving the washing machine door (and in the case of top-loaders, the lid) open between uses is one of the simplest and most effective preventive maintenance habits available. It costs nothing, requires no tools, and directly addresses the single most common complaint about front-loading washing machines: the musty, damp odour that develops inside the drum...
Washing machine detergent is not universal. Using the wrong type of detergent — specifically, using a conventional high-suds detergent in a High Efficiency (HE) front-loading or top-loading machine — is one of the most common and damaging mistakes washing machine owners make. The consequences range from poor cleaning performance and excessive foam to detergent residue...
More detergent does not mean cleaner clothes. This is one of the most persistent misconceptions in laundry care, and overdosing is a leading cause of both poor laundry results and progressive washing machine damage. Modern washing machines — particularly front-loaders — are engineered for precise detergent volumes. Exceeding those volumes creates a cascade of problems...
Every washing machine has a rated maximum load capacity, typically expressed in kilograms of dry fabric weight. This specification is not conservative guidance — it is an engineering limit based on the motor torque, bearing load rating, suspension system, and drum volume of the specific machine. Consistently exceeding this limit degrades the machine's mechanical components...
Sorting laundry before washing is a maintenance practice in the broadest sense — it prevents the kind of damage to fabrics and machine components that results from washing incompatible items together. While it may seem like a purely laundry-care concern, sorting directly protects the machine from the consequences of problem washes: dye transfer staining that...
